1920′s English and Indian cricket, and its uniforms, inspired the Spring/Summer 2014 Moncler Gamme Bleu designed by Thom Browne, which debuted at Milan Fashion Week over the weekend. Classic white tailored pieces were trimmed with brand blue and red while structured, padded pieces layered on top had me thinking they were inspired by an all white room. A punk black lip finished it all off for a fresh interpretation of prominent mens trends.
Characterized by long coats and sweaters, and quilted pants, the collection featured an almost pure-white approach with blue/red stripes adding accents throughout. With the color range kept to a minimum, the collection freely experiments with subtle layers of off-white tones and textures. Moncler Gamme Bleu has been consistent in its pursuit of repurposing and finding new meanings for outerwear as their latest effort fully represents.
