Jerszy Seymour is one of those artists that make you wonder about the boundaries of the art he touches. His works look as if its the boiling point of design, architecture and visual arts. Indeed, he surely doesn’t really care whether people put his in a box or not. And the more you look at his works, the more you understand just how difficult it is to do this.
He studied engineering at South Bank Polytechnic 1987 -1990 and industrial design at the Royal College of Art 1991 – 1993. Already, two different areas. Seymour started with some experiments, thing that made his visible. Working for big companies didn’t alter his perception and imagination, but he took from there a specific utility that can be seen in some of his works.
He exhibited in the Design Museum in London, the Vitra Design Museum in Basel and Berlin, the Palais De Tokyo in Paris and Gallery Kreo in Paris. His work are present in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the ´Fonds National de Art Contemporain´ France and the ´Musee d´Art Grand-Duc Jean´ Luxembourg. He went on to creating installations.
