XXL chair, Arco

As the proportions of people evolve to the standards of western consumerism so may the proportions of objects that surround us, this project is a preview. We designed this chair with super size aesthetics in mind.

Chair of textures

The Chair of Textures, Tjep.’s contribution to the project Smart Deco, started with an architectural experiment realized for the Dutch Architectural Institute in 2005 called House of Textures.
Living in an increasingly prefab world, the question we asked ourselves was: is it possible to detail an entire house as if it were jewelry?

Barbapallone

The Barbapallone is based on the famous cartoon Barbapapa, a series of form manipulations have lead to a playfull interpretation of the classic Pallone chair by Leolux called Barbapallone.

Buurtbank

Developed in collaboration with Museum Studio, the Buurtbank is a mobile recording studio which is going to be used to create and present, a database of testimonies of obsolete tools from the past, by interviewing the original users.


Schiphol Airport Lounge 3 / House of Tulips

Tjep. was invited to design a prominent area of Schiphol Lounge 3. Right at the center of this complete renewal project executed by Benthem and Crouwel Acrchitects in collaboration with Merckx and Girod, Tjep. realized a restaurant (Bread), cheese counter (Say Cheese) and a flower shop (House of Tulips).

Shock proof

Shock Proof is a collection of existing vases upon which Tjep. has applied the Do Break principle.
When broken the vases don’t fall apart and remain watertight because of a special rubber coating that is applied to the inside.
