Showcasing the work of over 1,000 graduates from some of the most influential UK and international universities, Graduate Fashion Week represents the future of creative design talent. Attracting over 20,000 guests each June, the event features 22 catwalk shows, large exhibition from over 40 universities and an acclaimed Gala Award Show.

This week, the event is showcasing the work of more than 1,000 BA fashion graduates from 40 UK colleges, as well as best-in-show collections from 16 universities around the world including Parsons and FIT, in New York, plus other colleges in Turkey, Pakistan, Israel, Taiwan, and the major European countries.
Yesterday, designer Henry Holland, one of our £21billion pound fashion industry’s best young examples of how to build a worldwide brand, hosted an informal Q&A. American sportswear brand, Abercrombie & Fitch were amongst the early head-hunters with a team on-the-scout, while the British Fashion Council’s Sarah Mower, and Conservative MP, Penny Mordaunt, who works with Parliament’s industry trust, were also checking out the action.

Claire Acton, recruited by GFW sponsors, George, at last year’s event, was celebrating having Lady Gaga as a fan, and sales of her hit “eye” shirt at the chain’s on-site pop-up store. And London-based digital platform, SHOWstudio, conducted a live-stream in the GFW photo-studio for an avid audience, while Barclays Bank hosted seminars on preparing a CV and psyching-up for interviews.
The first of 20 graduate catwalk shows yesterday included final-year collections from Bournemouth, Central Lancashire, Edinburgh, Northumbria, Northbrook, Wiltshire, and Istituto Marangoni.
Bournemouth featured every age from six to 60 in its collaboration with ‘All Walks Beyond the Catwalk’. ‘Grey Beards’ highlighted the Edinburgh show while elsewhere,Game of Thrones, David Bowie, digital prints, climate change, and futuristic fairies inspired other graduates.

Graduate Fashion Week continues today with the International Catwalk Show, and final-year collections from Liverpool John Moores, Rochester, Ravensbourne, Nottingham Trent, De Montfort and Epsom.
The week ends with the Gala Awards, on Wednesday night, compered by Henry Holland, when the winner of the £20,000 Gold Award, given by George, for the best student collection of the year, will be announced.
