Celebrity milliner Jaycow trained at the London College of Fashion and under royal hatter Rose Cory before returning to her hometown, Hong Kong. Here, the stylist-turned-hatmaker made her name adorning the heads of Cantopop superstars Karen Mok and Eason Chan with her flamboyant designs: think sculptural gothic headpieces shooting with stark black feathers. These days she’s getting futuristic with plastic and leather for a new collaboration with cosmetic giant Shu Uemura. Her latest challenge? “I need pieces to go with silver lashes!” she says.
As a hat lover, Jaycow has always had an eye for finding beautiful hats. From a nice fitting newsboy cap to a hand blocked fedora, she beams with joy whenever she finds a gem. Learning millinery at the London College of Fashion, as well as from the royal milliner, Rose Corey, she found her ultimate creative outlet. Working from her lovely studio, many beautiful, bespoke hats, fascinators, head bands and bridal head pieces have been created. Each piece is hand crafted, unique and individual; a one off creation made specifically for each client.
Jaycow works with private clients, brides, fashion houses and costume designers alike, working with them to create the perfect hat or headpiece that will suit the outfit and the occasion. Jaycow has also collaborated with many well known figures in the music industry to create bespoke headpieces used in music videos and concerts performances.
Jaycow enjoys working closely with clients throughout the design process resulting in a tailor made piece to perfectly suit the clients’ specifications, while maintaining their personality and sense of style. Jaycow’s hats are not for people who have had hair days. They are for hat lovers who have wit, humor, and a joie de vivre.
