At The Outsiders London it’s on display Cristy Lee Rogers, a visual artist and contemporary photographer who presents 24 works. What is interesting about the aquatic works is the way in which the human body is presented: in movement. Therefore, the photos have a certain dynamics, mixing with the clothes and pushing away the water. These movements recall both an effort and a liberation.
Who are these people, you wonder? They are swimmers, dancers, actors, performance artists.
There is something poetic about her works, as if the images seen are from a dream. The contrast comes once you imagine the body in motion.
“I was inspired by Paris, the performances of the Moulin Rouge, the old circuses, wild abandonment and that feeling of letting go that explodes out of you like you’re drunk with love,” says the artist.
