Merel Bekking (1987) graduated in 2011 at the Utrecht School of the Arts, pathway Product Design. In 2012 she started her own design studio and design on her own initiative and commissioned. Regularly Merel is hired as Creative Thinker or consultant. She also gives lectures about her work.

The work of Merel Bekking is primarily Research-based Design. Every subject is fully explored and examined from every possible angle. Perspective changes also play a major role in Bekkings work.

This handmade concrete candleholder reminds of the typical plumbing tubes under a sink. The brass top parts are threaded allowing to place the 3 candles extra easy and extra secure in the candlestick.

Mr. Fahrenheit is one of the alter egos of Freddie Mercury.

Since 2014 the candleholder is added to the label of Sweatshop Deluxe, and it is now socially produced.
