A designer who likes to play with contrasts, and to use natural processes or materials in his designs – this is Erez Nevi Pana. The creation of hybrids has always fascinated him. Likewise, the progression that occurs in the plant nursery, an evolutionary thought process has led him to examine the feasibility of breeding creation in other fields outside of the nursery territory.
By the integration of elements from two different worlds he gets a third variety which maintains the desired qualities of the origins. This is a sexual process in which he leads both players into their fusion.
He aims to create the breeding of two worlds to a new whole – which arouses the curiosity of humans to discover what is the meaning of this new visual object. What are the qualities produced through crossbreeding; apparently, making the illogical, logical.

Soilid exhibits the combination of soil, fungi and other natural materials. The recipe ingredients are measured by volume/weight and mixed together, then left to rise overnight at room temperature. The combination of the soil with fungi and sugars creates a chemical reaction that allows the “earth” to rise – the “dough” will double in size.

The project exhibits a forward/reverse process. It is an experiment of revelation of the inner skin, the raw material, which embodies the truth that hides underneath the cloth. Harvesting turns into sowing. Thus the chair turns into a self-portrait. The felled trunk exposes all of your secrets, leaving you bare, uncovered. You are left standing face to face with your biggest fears, with your mental and physical scars, from which you can actually re-grow. Then when the drops saturate your soul, you can just sit, take a deep breath, and relax.
It’s the Aim chair.

The concept came about during the mourning period. An entire family united to part with the matriarch of the tribe. Each of her six daughters received one of her Persian carpets, a memory of the warmth of her home. The project presents a process of framing patterns from the plant world. Flowers and plants are repetitive motives and the most prominent expressions of Persian art and culture, encapsulated by the Persian carpet.
The act of planting in the ground, the colorful fauna and flora, the gradual development within the object and its influence on the functionality of the product interact with concepts of temporality, external appearance and relevance.
