He’s famous for his unusual approach to millinery and with Minotaur horns and a creepy mask among his latest offerings, it would appear that Charlie Le Mindu is still intent on introducing some silliness to the fashion world.

While Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld was lapping up the applause following a hugely successful and searingly stylish show, Le Mindu sent models wearing nothing but hats and gold body paint down his runway.

Le Mindu, who counts eccentric singer Lady Gaga among his fans, has caused controversy in the past, most recently when he sent completely naked models down the catwalk during a London Fashion Week show.

While models in his Paris Couture show did benefit from bikinis and gold body paint, there was very little else to spare their blushes – or take attention away from Le Mindu’s outrageous new designs.

Among them was a bizarre horned headdress that resembled Ancient Greek depictions of the mythical Minotaur – a ferocious monster that demanded seven young men and women from Athens each year until meeting a sticky end at the hands of Greek hero Theseus.

Other pieces on display included a totem mask with two unsettling baby’s faces top and bottom and a blonde hair hat that resembled Paris Hilton’s hairdo crossed with one of the bearskins worn by Buckingham Palace guards.

Oddest of all was a bizarre hamburger hat crafted from what looked like blonde Afro hair, which Le Mindu paired with a gold bikini and some retro-style binoculars.
