XXL chair, Arco
As the proportions of people evolve to the standards of western consumerism so may the proportions of objects that surround us, this project is a preview. We designed this chair with super size aesthetics in mind.
Thanks to airplanes people are capable of traveling through the air like birds. We have launched a second revolution: thanks to Tak, people nowadays can also relax like birds!
Chair of textures
The Chair of Textures, Tjep.’s contribution to the project Smart Deco, started with an architectural experiment realized for the Dutch Architectural Institute in 2005 called House of Textures.
Living in an increasingly prefab world, the question we asked ourselves was: is it possible to detail an entire house as if it were jewelry?
The Barbapallone is based on the famous cartoon Barbapapa, a series of form manipulations have lead to a playfull interpretation of the classic Pallone chair by Leolux called Barbapallone.
Developed in collaboration with Museum Studio, the Buurtbank is a mobile recording studio which is going to be used to create and present, a database of testimonies of obsolete tools from the past, by interviewing the original users.
Schiphol Airport Lounge 3 / House of Tulips
Tjep. was invited to design a prominent area of Schiphol Lounge 3. Right at the center of this complete renewal project executed by Benthem and Crouwel Acrchitects in collaboration with Merckx and Girod, Tjep. realized a restaurant (Bread), cheese counter (Say Cheese) and a flower shop (House of Tulips).
Shock Proof is a collection of existing vases upon which Tjep. has applied the Do Break principle.
When broken the vases don’t fall apart and remain watertight because of a special rubber coating that is applied to the inside.
When you buy a Signature Vase, you don’t get yet another ready-made vase.
Instead you get something highly individual, something that will make you proud, something totally based on yor choose.
